Using CBD oil in animals has a huge positive effect. More and more people are choosing to use CBD oil for their pets. This stems from the positive experiences people have with cannabidiol or CBD oil. Just like humans, animals also have an endo-cannabinoid system, so it makes sense that it works for them too.

CBD use on the rise for animals
The use of CBD oil by humans has increased in recent years, but it can also significantly improve the quality of life for animals. This makes sense, because animals, like humans, also have an endo-cannabinoid system (ECS). This is a system that responds to cannabinoids with the CB1 and CB2 receptors. The use of CBD products is aimed at supporting and balancing this system. This is how it works in humans, so why not use it on your pet too?
As mentioned, we see that the effectiveness of CBD oil works many times better in animals because their Endo Cannabinoid System (ECS) is much more sensitive, and for that reason the effect can be achieved faster.
There are approximately 3.8 million households in the Netherlands that together have approximately 27 million pets. Most people have cats, that’s about 23%. Then come the dog lovers with almost 18% and more than 7% have aquarium fish as pets. Of course there are also many horse lovers, or other perhaps more exotic animals, such as snakes or lizards. But then you have an idea of how many people have pets. Most people have more pets, think of a dog and cat, or two cats or several fish.
What exactly is CBD oil?
CBD oil is a naturally obtained extract mixed with a carrier oil. You can think of olive oil or hemp seed oil.
The substance is obtained via pure extraction from Hemp with the aim of isolating the active substances in a so-called extract. The advantage is that no active ingredients have to be added.
The active substances from the Hemp plant are sometimes confused with the substance THC. Also known for getting high or stoned. We are not allowed to process high percentages of THC in our oil. Otherwise, this falls under the Opium Act, and we also do not want people and animals to get unwanted high or stoned from our oil. Our extracts are always checked by an opium-excluded lab. This person can know exactly how much THC is in the oil. We always have everything accurately tested every quarter. We need to do this to properly comply with the law.

Just like this is basically with any product what you can buy. Whether this is a CBD oil or a pair of pants or a car, there is a difference in quality everywhere.
Get well informed by a provider. Do your own research when it comes to CBD oil. We are happy to help you with information about the different extracts.
Which animals can use CBD oil?
In principle, you could give CBD oil to any (domestic) animal; from large to small. It is logical that you adjust the dosage to the size of the animal. Logically, you cannot administer a mouse as much as a large dog. The CBD oil that is used for pets will contribute to a stable base within the ECS and the balance will also be created and maintained. For example, if you look at horses, the need for higher percentages and getting more is in proportion to the size of the body.
The advantage of CBD oil for pets is that there are no side effects . There is also no significant amount of THC in the CBD oil and therefore your pet will not get high or stoned. A less strong oil is very suitable as a starting dose for cats and dogs, for example the 2.5% and the 5% . Horses benefit from the same amount and concentration as humans, with them you can safely start with 10% or even 20% .
CBD oil for dogs
Using CBD oil for dogs often works very well. We often have very fast results with these pets. Many dog owners use CBD oil to prevent all kinds of complaints. For example, think of pain complaints, but also stress and tension of dogs.
We ourselves use the CBD oil for our dog Bowie to prevent rather than cure. You can just see that he is doing very well. For that reason we also see that we actually never have to go to the vet. The coat is very beautiful and so are his stools.
We can imagine that you often want to use CBD oil in dogs if you see complaints, or notice that your dog is not feeling well. Do not wait with complaints, but just start using CBD oil for prevention.

CBD oil for cats
Because cats often show many small vague complaints, many people use CBD oil for cats.
There are quite a lot of questions when it comes to which type and strength of CBD oil can best be used for your cat. We note that many people spend quite a bit of money on the vet and are given a battery of pills to counteract the complaints.
What we note, however, is that next to old age, stress for cats is the single most important factor that cat owners face. You can think of all kinds of complaints that fit with old age, such as osteoarthritis or rheumatic complaints, but stress also causes cats to be completely out of balance. The main stressors often take place outdoors. These can be very subtle things. Think of a confrontation with an elated dog, or perhaps a bucket of water over the cat by someone from the neighborhood.
If you want to use CBD oil for cats, it is very important that the cat ingests the oil naturally. We note that cats are often more sensitive to tastes. You can put the CBD oil over the chunks, but sometimes it is also useful to put it on a small piece of sausage sandwich or a slice of chicken breast. The cat will then receive the necessary CBD oil through the diet. CBD chunks are also available, but we do not recommend this. The reason is that many of these kibbles do not deliver the accurate and effective dosage. Moreover, it is very important that the food is of excellent quality. In other words, it should not detract. Cats are very sensitive to food, so keep that in mind.
Always start with a lower percentage of CBD oil. Often a 5% – 30 ml bottle is certainly enough for a month or 4. Our oil is blended with organic hemp seed oil. The advantage is that this oil is the most subtle for the absorption of the CBD oil.
CBD oil for horses
You can also use CBD oil for horses. It is very important that you see how the horse resonates with this. There are many different providers on the market. We have found that the higher percentages in particular work well.
Horses benefit a lot when the CBD oil helps them to keep their own cannabis system in balance. Yes, you read that right, horses also have their own Cannabis system. We have mentioned this before, namely the EndoCannabinoid system. This so-called ECS resonates with keeping your horse in balance. Think of moisture regulation, relaxation of muscles and joints to the absorption of nutrients. The digestion process in particular is very important. You will also recognize this in the feces of horses by using CBD oil.
It is quite difficult to get the right ratio that best suits your horse.
What we see is that your horse can best get the CBD oil through food. With humans you can easily dose it under the tongue, but with horses it just goes less well.
Always start with a lower dose. Our advice is to definitely grab the 20% CBD oil. You can then easily give the horse the oil with a chunk or two or three. Put 1 drop per kibble, and then first see how the horse reacts.
If this goes well after a few days, think about 3-4, then you can increase the dose every day with a proportional number of drops. So if you gave 2 first, then you give 4. And then you see what happens when you do this again for a week.
We can really reassure you, because there is no measurably high percentage of THC in our oil, your horse can never get high or stoned. CBD has also been put on the list of the anti-doping law. This means that CBD is safe to use for both humans and animals.

Consult with the vet
Some people choose to use CBD oil on their pets to combat minor ailments themselves. You can think of anxious behaviour, rash or simply to keep the animal healthy.
When an animal has a serious illness, you should also consult with a veterinarian. Fortunately, more and more vets are aware of the positive effect of CBD oil in animals and will therefore be happy to contribute ideas. In the case of an animal, you should also check whether there are any contraindications with regard to the conventional medication that has already been prescribed.
Dosing CBD oil in animals
The dosage depends on the reason for use, but starting with CBD oil in animals is the same as in humans. Usually the CBD oil is used as a supporting dietary supplement and in that case one drop of CBD once or twice a day is sufficient.
You can usually see the first result a week after the daily administration. Be careful what strength you use. If you only want to give your pet the CBD oil as a supporting supplement, then you do not have to give highly concentrated CBD oil. If an animal is really sick, it will need more CBD oil. Are you dealing with a rodent? Then it is advisable to dilute your oil yourself. Guideline: The maximum CBD intake for pets is estimated to be 1 mg per 1 kg of body weight. So you give a dog or cat weighing 4 kg a maximum of 4 mg CBD. This may be different in case of illness.
Administering CBD oil to animals
Some animals are very docile and simply let the oil be administered directly into the mouth. With other animals it works again to drip some on the leg, which they then lick off. If both don’t work, just give it with something tasty. Just make sure you drop it on a ready-made bite, so you can be sure they get it all.
