How does CBD oil work?
Whether you smoke cannabis, put it on your skin, or take it orally as a dietary supplement, your body can only process about 35% of the CBD infused. The rest is removed from your body as waste products. Partly for this reason, it might be interesting for many of our customers to also take a look at our CBD capsules . Due to the gastric acid-resistant layer, the active substances are only released in the intestines. Ideal for a higher bio-absorption.
When inhaling the CBD product, the combination of substances from cannabis can enter your blood within a few minutes. If you take a CBD oil orally, the peak absorption in your blood can last up to 90 minutes.
After transporting through the blood and processing in the liver, CBD either leaves the body through your digestive tract or is stored in fat cells. Similar to the intoxicating other cannabis compound THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), most of the remaining CBD is excreted in your stool within one to two days of your first dose. Only a quarter of CBD waste leaves your body through urine.
How long does it take for CBD oil to work?
Because everyone is different, this also relates to how long it takes for CBD oil to start working. Most people have the best results after half an hour to an hour and a half. It is important that you always leave the CBD oil under the tongue for at least three to five minutes when ingested orally for maximum results. When applied to the skin, the effect can often set in faster. When taking capsules, it can take three hours before the effect really starts to take effect. This is mainly due to the opening of the capsule in the intestinal area. Please note that these capsules are only available from the Cannabas brand.
In addition, it is very important that you realize that the overall effective result that you will get with the use of CBD oil can certainly last between 6 and 12 weeks. This does not mean that you cannot expect an effect in the short term, but it does mean that your complaints will only diminish or even completely disappear after that considerable time. We advise you to continue working with the oil to reduce your complaints. Combining CBD oil can also be paired with other types of cannabis oil. In addition to CBD oil, we also offer:
- CBN oil , this is mainly used for sleeping
- CBC oil for pain
- CBG oil for neurologically related complaints

What does CBD oil do to your body?
CBD oil works internally. We can best explain what CBD oil does to your body in a few steps.
CBD oil is taken in a certain dosage. This is done orally (oral intake is not allowed in Belgium), through the skin, or through CBD Capsules.
As soon as the CBD starts doing its job internally, it comes into contact with its own internal cannabis system. This is also known as the Endocannabinoid System. This system works together with receptors called: CB1 and CB2 receptors.
Uptake by the CB1 and CB2 receptors. These receptors are distributed throughout our body. You can distinguish the two receptors quite easily. The CB1 receptors are mainly located in the higher region of the body. Think of the brain, lungs and heart. The CB2 receptors in the lower organs, such as liver, intestines and stomach.
The effect is activated and shares the necessary support to the body via the receptors. The person or animal who takes it experiences relief from the symptoms.
Note: long-term use of CBD oil can mean that you need much less. This is because the body has built up a kind of mirror, as it were. Always try to reduce the doses after 12 weeks. This way you only use the CBD oil in a complementary way and in addition to your well-achieved result. You can read even more about what other customers have written about us here .
